Renate Mueller, CPA, CA has formed a new company to offer their services to more Canadian brokerages, after more than 8 years of advising Canadian insurance brokerages on mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, and executive search process as the former president of AMAC Consultants Inc.
In 2003 Renate purchased a 50% interest in AMAC Consultants Inc. (“AMAC”). Renate and her partner in AMAC, John McArthur, incorporated M&A Realty Inc. (“M&A”) in 2005. She was a licensed salesperson for M&A.
In 2000 Renate sold her insurance brokerage to a commercial insurance broker and remained with the acquiring firm for two years to service clients throughout BC. She had purchased a property & casualty insurance brokerage from her parents in 1984. As a brokerage business owner for 16 years her primary focus was on business development and commercial client servicing. In this new role, she was a guest speaker on numerous occasions at clients’ annual general meetings.
Employed by Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants for three years in Special Services Division advising small to medium sized clients.
Employed by Revenue Canada Taxation as a fraud investigator for tax evasion for 8 years. In 2006 Renate was recognized by her peers when the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC awarded her with the Community Service Award.

Volunteer History
Served at the Institute of Chartered Accountant on various committees, Public Relations, Advertising and Members In Industry, Government and Education. She also assisted low income seniors by preparing their tax returns at senior centers.
Elected and served as a director of Edelweiss Credit Union for 13 years including chair of the board for two years. Edelweiss later merged and became Prospera Credit Union.
Was appointed to a special review committee and assisted the Minister of Finance in reviewing the Westcoast/First Pacific Credit Unions’ problem and the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporations management of the affairs of these credit unions by proposing a merger of the two entities. The merged credit union became Coast Capital Credit Union in 1988.
Served as a director of the CUMIS Group of Companies, Burlington, Ontario, for four years and attended international joint board meetings with CUNA Mutual in Madison Wisconsin, U.S.A.
Was a director of the Travel Assurance Board of B.C. for eight years and sat on a Provincial Review Committee for the travel industry.
Served as a director of the Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia for six years and was on the executive for five years and is a Past President of that association.
Was a director of the national board of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada and chaired the national Broker Identity Program.
Appointed to the audit committee of the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board in 2001 and have now served for ten years.
Started and chaired an annual charity golf tournament for ten years for Big Sisters of the Lower Mainland. The tournament raised approximately $370,000.00 during the ten years as Chair and is currently an Honorary Member of Big Sisters.
Past Director of Parkinson’s Society of B.C. and served for one year on its charity golf committee.
